Technology Literacy Common Core Standards in Our Computer Science Electives

In our Computer Science Classes with Mrs. Rivas at Shoreline Middle School we address the following International Society for Technology in Education, (ISTE), Standards:

1) Creativity and Innovation - Students create original works as a means of personal expression.

2) Communication and Collaboration - Students communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.

3) Research and Information Fluency - Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.

4) Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Computational Thinking, and Decision Making - Students use multiple processes and diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions.

5) Digital Citizenship - Students use Ergonomics, Keyboarding Skills, and Netiquette to demonstrate personal responsibility for lifelong learning.

6) Technology Operations and Concepts - Students demonstrate their ability to send and retrieve work from the server, Computer Lab sharing folder.

Our digital natives are learning and using 21st Century skills every day in our Computer Lab.
